WHO Collaborating Centre for Blood Products and in vitro Diagnostic Devices
The Paul-Ehrlich-Institut (PEI), Division Haematology and Transfusion Medicine is a WHO Collaborating Centre for Quality Assurance of Blood Products and in vitro Diagnostic Devices.
In June 2005, the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut received its designation as a Collaborating Centre from the World Health Organization (WHO). Its head is Dr Dorothea Stahl, the head of the Section Transfusion Medicine.
Activities of the Collaborating Centre include support to WHO in the organization of workshops and meetings covering blood products and in vitro diagnostic devices, organizing and performing laboratory studies and standardization of international biological measurement materials, and contributing to the development of guidelines and recommendations.
