The Federal Ministry of Health recently found a supply shortage for influenza vaccines (§ 79 Abs. 5 AMG). The Paul-Ehrlich-Institut will gladly answer your questions about the status of the batch release of flu vaccine batches sent to Germany from other EU countries.

To ensure the vaccine quality of influenza vaccines shipped from other EU countries to Germany, the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut (PEI) offers to check the status of the official batch release of individual vaccine batches. This will be done through a database covering all flu vaccine batches tested and approved by the European Official Medicines Control Laboratories (OMCL).

Please send your inquiry about the release status to anfragen@pei.de with the subject line "Batch Release Influenza Vaccine". In order to be able to give you information, we need the following details in your inquiry:

  • name of the vaccine
  • country of origin of the vaccine
  • batch number.
