In­clu­sion

"Many things are possible", as the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut (PEI) continues to demonstrate with projects for the integration of people with disabilities in the fields of science and research. For disabled people it is often more difficult to find a qualified job, especially in the natural sciences. To close this gap, the PEI has been involved in integration projects for more than two decades. Result: At the PEI, inclusion is a model of success and lived reality.

2013 until 2018

!nka

!nkA stands for "inclusion project for the joint training of young people with and without disabilities" (Inklusionsprojekt zur gemeinsamen Ausbildung von Jugendlichen mit und ohne Behinderung). Sponsor of the project !NkA was the UnternehmensForum, a nationwide and cross-industry association of employers; PEI is a member of the UnternehmensForum.

United Nations (UN) Prize for the PEI

The United Nations honored the PEI with the 2010 United Nations Public Services Award (UNPSA) for the project "Tandem in Science - Network for Integration Projects" on 23 June 2010.

2005 until 2007

Many things are possible - tandem partners in science

The tandem project will be extended with funds from the European Social Fund to universities, small and large companies and self-help associations. Content is extended to disabled apprentices and doctoral students. National and European partners participate.

2002 until 2004

Integration department

The tandem project will be continued in a PEI integration department co-financed by the Landeswohlfahrtsverband Hessen and the Federal Employment Agency.
